Up and running, I think! [entered 2007-11-30]
These are important times to stop and think where my life is headed.
I'm almost 62 years old, and it is so easy to think I can coast through my remaining years.
However, I can't find anything in Scripture that allows me to think my life's work is over - though it may be changing.
My most traumatic birthday was my 28th. I woke up that morning, thinking that I was getting old. What would happen to my ministry, when I could no longer keep up with the youth God had brought to my church.
Well, more than 30 years later, I can testify to the fact that God still has wonderful ways to use my life, talents and gifts.
Now, I can no longer mess around with the youth (I've had three back surgeries), but I find satisfaction discipling people, leading worship, and singing for God's glory.
How much longer will I be able to serve Christ? Until God calls me home.
The Point: Don't re-tire, re-tread!
